Experience Ireland

The residences in Cork were really nice and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I absolutely loved this trip. The staff, supervisors and teachers were absolutely amazing! The scenery was beautiful and the excursions gave us a very thorough understanding of Ireland as a whole.

I loved it so much, I would like to have stayed longer that 27 days!!

I'm extremely glad to have had this experience. Maybe Celtic Learning could make it two months -- I loved it so much I don't want to go home.

I really liked the apartment feel that the dorms had in Galway, Cork and Dublin. It made it really easy to meet new people.

This trip was one of the best things of my life. I will always remember everything I did and all the people I met. I would suggest this trip to everyone I know! It taught me a lot about myself and everything around me. I'll never forget this trip. Thank you.

I loved this trip and had an amazing time. I highly recommend Celtic Learning to others!

I had an amazing time with Celtic Learning this summer. Thank you so much for this experience. I'll never take it for granted!!

Thank you for an absolutely amazing experience!

The entire month was full of amazing experiences. I would strongly recommend anyone to go on a Celtic Learning trip like this! Don't expect an easy work load, but it's worth every bit of it. I will miss Ireland so much.

Celtic Learning - Ireland, England, and Italy

My experience in Italy and Ireland during the month of July was the most fulfilling experience of my life thus far. I learned so much both in the classroom and on the streets. I learned so much historically and culturally about two of the greatest European countries while I was overseas. To this day I continue to use the knowledge I picked up while on my trip. While on the trip, I had the opportunity to visit the Vatican, the Coliseum, Forum and Bono’s house! The trip was the most fun and educating experience at the same time. This trip however was not all about tourist attractions, I received my grade 12 English credit. My teacher, Ms Sacchetti helped improve my writing skills, and taught lessons that incorporated our surroundings. I highly recommend this experience, and I’ve told almost everyone I know about the trip. My supervisors and Mark Burke were so professional and helpful the whole trip. I made some of the greatest friends while on my trip and to this day when we reunite we can’t stop reminiscing. I thank Georgia Hardy Tours and Celtic Learning for the best summer of my life!

Mr. Burke,
I just wanted to thank you for providing the opportunity for me, as well as all the people on the Ireland/England trip this past July. This trip has changed my entire outlook on the world, as well as given me a different perspective on life, and it was more then I had ever hoped for. I am now inspired to travel the rest of the world, and I realise that my small town ........is not the only thing out there! If I could do the trip again, I would in a heartbeat, unfortunately I am going into grade 12 this year so this is not possible, but I am strongly encouraging my parents to let my brother go this upcoming summer, so that he can have the same amazing experience I did. England and Ireland are both amazing places, but the people and friendships and memories I made while there is what I am truly thankful for.
Thank you again for everything,
AP (student 2007)

Hi Mark,
I wanted to write to say thank you so much for the Ireland trip......had a fabulous time....... I truly do appreciate the huge responsibility you take on when you run these trips, and am grateful to you for it – these kids are so lucky to be able to experience such a wonderful thing in their young years.

Dear Mark Burke and 2004 team!
I am writing to let you know that I participated in the Dublin and London tour the summer of 2004 and had the time of my life. Such a good time that I am moving to Dublin this coming April.
I would not have thought of doing this had I not had such a positive experience three years ago.
The cultural and educational experiences that I had during this 4 week program were countless.
Thank you so much for the wonderful opportunity and opening a new door for me.
Sincerely, Laura Chapman

Mr Bonnah: My husband and I would like to thank you personally for having such a positive influence on our son, ....., this summer. We could tell from our many telephone calls from .. (our son) in July that he was thoroughly having a great experience both with his English classes and in all the day trips you took the kids on. From the moment we picked ... up at Pearson airport until we got home, about a 2 1/2 hour ride, he was bubbling over with excitement. We could tell that this was one of the best life-learning times he has ever had and from his stories, we know that you had a direct impact on his wonderful trip. He is most excited to go to the reunion.... I don't know if we'll get to meet you personally, but in case we don't : Thank You! Thank you! I have been on 2 Europe trips with..... and I know he had fun, but this Celtic experience with you and your staff seems to be the highlight of his life. We are ever grateful to you.

Hi Mr. Burke! How are you doing? You must be busy planning this year’s Celtic Summer program, I'm sure. When I received the pamphlet in the mail some time ago, I felt the urge to sign up all over again. I want to tell you that going to Ireland last summer was an experience I will never forget. I really haven’t stopped thinking about it, to be honest. Every day and night memories come back to me at random, and when I get together with Hilary .., who also enjoyed the trip thoroughly, we can't stop talking about our experiences in Ireland. We have this shared dream of one day going to Trinity College, and owning those beautiful houses Mr. Moody took us to see on the coast in Howth. I want to live in the house with the plaque reading "Tara Manor". :) I never had the chance to properly thank you for providing me with such a life changing journey, so thank you.

Dear Jaason, Our son,…, attended the Celtic Summer program in 2002 and we have nothing but praise for the program……. Not only did he have a great time and earned a valuable credit but quite simply, it changed his life. He "grew up" over those few short weeks and returned home quite a mature young man. As well, he developed a strong network of friends who have become an important part of his life since returning home. It's a great program which we hope …..can attend in a few short years. Unsolicited email to Jaason, Supervisor, Celtic Summer 2002.Dear Mr. Burke,….We would be more than happy to recommend this course…..

Dear Mr. Younder, ....I will always remember this wonderful experience and treasure it....I am thankful to have been taught by such an enthusiastic and charasmatic teacher as yourself....Upon my return to Toronto, I was convinced, and still am that the excursion enriched my academic and creative horizons....I will step into university with a more open and positive educational experience....

...Thanks for the great memories...The course content was original, the trips were interesting, and classroom discussions were exciting...The evening at the Yacht Club was a very fitting way to end the summer.

I can't begin to express how much fun I had in Ireland this summer. I full well knew it was going to be a good time but never imagined it to as great as it turned out. Everything from the plane ride over, to the Gaelic football match, to the arts festival, to the tearful goodbyes was an experience I will never forget......

......I found this summer school program to be the ideal situation for a for a young person travelling away from home for the first time. My daughter's personal growth was quite evident upon her return at the end of the course.....As a parent I find this program a bonus in helping my daughter along the way to become a mature and responsible young woman. I hope Mr. Burke will continue to organize such trips so that more young people will benefit from them as much as my daughter did.....

Dear Mr. Burke, ......I would like to compliment your efforts in putting together an outstanding English program this summer in Ireland. My son benefitted from the opportunity enormously as it was a wonderful learning experience both academically and culturally.......As I was vacationing in Britain during the same period, I was able to visit my son in Ireland and witness first hand the high calibre of teaching and the overall high quality of the program. I was greatly impressed.......Thank you.....
A.G. Markham. ON (1996)

Dear Mr. Burke,.....I wish to thank you regarding the OAC English course the my son took during the summer in Dublin. I think it is a wonderful experience.......
M.C.D. Toronto ON (1996)

.......I would like to let you know how much our daughter enjoyed her course in Ireland last year. She did well academically but it was the intangible benefits that that she derived from the course that prompted me to write to write to you.........While in Ireland (she) stayed with the Murphy family and such was their rapport that (she) continues to correspond with them.....I would like to compliment you on your hard work and continued success......
SC. Woodbridge. ON (1996)

.......Congratulations on building an excellent English program and making it not only effective but exciting for students. We hope you will continue with this excellent work. We have recommended the course to other families.....
